Pregnancy and childbirth is a special period in every woman’s life. How to return to activity and perfect form after this challenging time?

Give yourself time

First of all, do not force yourself. In magazines and gossip sites you can find all sorts of stories of celebrities who a few days after giving birth were bursting with energy and seemed to be in excellent mental condition. Unfortunately, very often it does not work that way, and in the pages of popular newspapers there is only a piece of reality, which is quite well prepared mystification.

Both pregnancy and childbirth are an effort for every woman. In the first days after childbirth it is not better – the new situation in which a young mother finds herself makes it difficult to find time for sleep and effective rest. New responsibilities, stress related to caring for the baby – all this makes the woman very often forget about her needs or postpone them. It may take long weeks to get back into shape before the birth, both physically and mentally. First of all, you need to give yourself time. How much? There is no universal recipe. Each body is different – one will regenerate very quickly, the other will need even a few months. Do not rush this process. Rest and gain strength at a pace that will be optimal for you. Both you and your baby will benefit.

Postpartum – six weeks of protection for the young mother

The concept of confinement has been around for a long time. During this time, a woman who has given birth to a child is entitled to special considerations for the first six weeks. Do not be afraid to ask for support – your loved ones will certainly help you. Slow down and enjoy the presence of your little one. Don’t try your hardest to be the best housewife in the world. The new situation will be stressful for you in itself. Why add to your worries and responsibilities?

Your body has been under a lot of strain during the nine months that a new life has been growing in your heart. You need time to recover, both physically and mentally. Try to get as much rest as possible and when you feel better, slowly return to activity. But don’t jump in head first. Opt first for a quiet walk.

What is beneficial for the recovery of the body after childbirth?

Calm and composure – the key to success

First of all, take care of your calmness. Surround yourself with an aura of optimism, even when you have another sleepless night and the baby is crying loudly, demanding feeding and diaper changes. This is your new rhythm of life, and even if it doesn’t seem interesting at first, you will soon get used to it and activities that are challenging at first will be completely natural.

Find time for yourself

The concept of time alone does not exist in the vocabulary of many young mothers. They spend every moment looking after their baby, and when he or she finally falls asleep, they take care of household chores – laundry or cleaning. This state of affairs can very quickly lead to exhaustion, which sometimes even manifests itself in depressive states. Make sure that you have at least a moment to yourself every day. Ask your loved ones to look after your baby. Even half an hour of relaxation will bring new comfort to your life. See for yourself that by investing in yourself, you will be able to become even more involved in caring for your child.

Do not forget about proper intimate hygiene

In addition to mental form, physical form is also important. However, before you can even start thinking about any activity, the wounds caused by childbirth must first heal. Take care of proper hygiene during this time, so that the body does not develop inflammation. Wear airy underwear that allows air to enter the birth canal. When you feel better, you can start going for walks. Increase the amount of physical activity gradually and check how your body reacts. This will help you get back in shape in a completely safe way. Don’t rush – take advantage of the special time that is the first weeks of your baby’s life!
