Classical yoga and mastering basic asanas is the choice for beginner athletes. In the fitness world, aerial yoga, which is an aerial exercise, is growing in popularity

Hammock size

The primary consideration when it comes to buying a yoga hammock is its size. The dimensions of the equipment depend on the place where they are to be located, the height of the ceiling, the distance from the floor and the dimensions of the athlete himself. Before purchasing, you should carefully check the dimensions of the space where the equipment will be located. The standard height of the hammock from the ground should be at least one meter. This height is optimal for both novice athletes and more experienced yogis. The material of the sling on which the exercises will be performed should be more than 1.5 meters wide and about 5 meters long. This size is enough to create a surface ideal for an average sized woman. The size of the hammock is important because it affects the even distribution of the athlete’s body weight during the workout, so it is worth carefully checking all the dimensions and adjusting to the individual needs of the user.

Sling material

Another thing to pay attention to when choosing a yoga hammock is the fabric of the sling. First and foremost, one should check the certificate of strength attestation. With this information, the user has real confirmation that the equipment can withstand the weight of the body and is suitable for the needs and requirements of practicing yoga. Such equipment as straps, clamps, hook or carabiners should have similar certifications. Among the materials for the hammock sling, there are two basic ones that work well. The first of them is the AIR material, which is used in most of the models available on the market. The fabric is made of polyester, it does not irritate the skin, is durable and elastic. AIR is recommended for both beginners and experienced aerial yoga practitioners. The second proposal is the JUST fabric, which is characterized by high softness, elasticity and adequate strength. Specialists emphasize that the fabric is suitable not only for intensive trainings, but also for relaxation or quieter workouts.

Yoga hammock attachments

An aspect that increases the comfort and safety of performing all aerial asanas is also how to attach the hammock to the ceiling. In addition to estimating and measuring the correct height, you should carefully check all the elements responsible for the attachment, the strength of the ceiling and how to tie the loops on the carabiner. All the necessary components for installation should be part of the kit when you buy a ready-made yoga hammock. Once the structure is attached to the ceiling, you need to decide whether the structure will be attached on a single knot or on two separate ones attached to two carabiners. Either method will affect the distribution of body weight during exercise, the distribution of the load on the ceiling, and the layering of the sling material. Mounting a hammock is a very important issue, so if the assembler does not have experience and knowledge of how to attach this type of structure, it is better to use the help of a professional.
